Return to Winnipeg & Departure
Fly back to Winnipeg for your onward journey. You leave with a powerful portfolio of polar bear images and a rare experience of the Arctic wilderness.
Final Session & Northern Lights Possibility
Your final day in the Arctic offers one last chance to capture unique moments. As night falls, conditions may allow viewing of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis)—a magical bonus to your expedition. Return to Churchill for a farewell dinner.
Extreme Close Encounters & Creative Shooting
Spend the day photographing polar bears in one of the most untouched environments on Earth. With fewer visitors and minimal disturbance, you’ll have opportunities for intimate, eye-level shots, dramatic snow scenes, and storytelling compositions.
Remote Lodge Experience (Fly-in or Overland)
Travel deeper into remote Arctic regions toward areas like Seal River or similar wilderness zones. Stay in a remote tundra lodge or mobile cabin setup, offering unmatched proximity to polar bears. This is where the experience becomes truly immersive—bears often pass directly near camp.
Arctic Photography & Bear Behavior
Return to the tundra for a full day of photography. Focus on understanding bear behavior—tracking movement, anticipating interactions, and improving composition. You may witness bears resting, walking long distances, or interacting with each other.
First Polar Bear Encounter (Tundra Vehicle)
Head out into Wapusk National Park aboard a specially designed tundra vehicle. These elevated vehicles allow safe and close-range encounters with polar bears as they roam the frozen coastline. Capture your first images of bears moving across snow and ice under soft Arctic light.
Flight to Churchill (Arctic Frontier)
Take a scenic flight north to Churchill, located on the edge of Hudson Bay. Upon arrival, transfer to your lodge and get your first feel of the Arctic environment—snow-covered tundra, icy winds, and vast open landscapes. Evening orientation and gear preparation.
Arrival in Winnipeg
Arrive in Winnipeg, the gateway to Canada’s Arctic north. After check-in at your hotel, meet your expedition team for a detailed briefing covering Arctic safety, clothing, and photography techniques. This evening sets expectations for working in extreme winter conditions.
